Keyword analysis was crucial for this customer. It revealed that the obvious keywords were in fact used by the search engines to categorise a completely different service altogether. Search engines need to perform this categorisation to function correctly, but unless an analysis of keyword results is made, a website runs the risk of foregoing relevant traffic, and attracting irrelevant traffic via the search engines.

We were also able to determine a crucial niche keyword that was being used by customers in an attempt to find this particular service. In this case, the keyword was poorly represented on competitor’s websites and our economical search engine optimization service offered the client a clean sweep into the no.1 position on the world’s no.1 search engine for a keyphrase highly relevant to our target market.

This task was made difficult due to the volatile competitiveness of the keywords. A number of very high quality websites competed on this client's preferred term, but we managed to reposition the site inside the top 5 assuring a considerable amount of website traffic for the investment.

Detailed reporting helped this customer determine who the major competitors were for web traffic & enquiries allowing us to monitor changes in ranking with ongoing optimizations able to further target other niche keywords.

Ongoing monitoring

As with all marketing activities, accountability is a high priority. Websites should be no different. After the site is submitted to the major search engines, you receive detailed reports outlining your position on the major search engines when each of your keywords is used. These reports occur before commencement of any work (for an existing website), and again bi-monthly typically over a 12mth period.
